Ducted air conditioning units can be a good investment
Mainly used for commercial purposes, ducted air conditioning units are one of the best options for hotels and restaurants. They are also sometimes known as central AC units. They comprise of a series of ducts that help in maintaining different temperatures in different areas. These AC’s can be either installed on the ground or on the roof according to the user’s preference.
Ducted air-conditioning units are more efficient as they feature variable speed drive technology that synchronises with the motor’s output to spread air with a suitable temperature needed to cool the room. They are often connected to the furnace or heat pump system in the room, with a condensing unit located outside the room. This helps in using the same ducts for heating and cooling.
The cost for a ducted air conditioner depends on how big a unit is and how many rooms will require ducts. Usually these AC’s are more expensive than split and wall systems. However, they are more efficient and used more than other air conditioning unit types on a larger scale. They can be designed with multiple zones, giving the user an option of either cooling the entire place or just specific areas, leading to higher maintenance costs. Ducted air conditioning system means every room is cooled just right – not too hot or too cold - as one central unit supplies air to every room via discreet vents in the ceiling or floor.
